List of the week: List the things that made you happy as a child.

This weeks weekly reflection forces us to push our thoughts back to our earlier days, and to what we can remember from then.

It’s interesting to see what made us happy as a child and compare it to what makes us happy now. Of course life teaches us many things, and our minds are more developed when we are older, but it’s still a fascinating comparison to make.

Happy Reflecting!

List of the Week: List the ways that you feel lucky.

This is almost another way of asking yourself why you think that you are blessed – and truly, there are so many reasons why I think we are all lucky in life, even if at a given moment in time we may think our world is crumbling. There is always going to be something that you want but can’t have, something that doesn’t go our way, or something that we aren’t happy about. Many of these life events are things we can’t always control, because they simply happen – not by our own decision-making.

I do believe though, we are able to control our happiness; to a point of course. We know ourselves and we know what makes us happy – now we just have to figure out to get ourselves there.

Feeling that we are lucky doesn’t have to be something drastic, something simple such as feeling lucky that your favourite snack was on sale at the grocery store, or that your shellac nail polish hasnt chipped after two weeks. Luck isn’t something we control, it’s almost like that extra cherry on top of happiness that adds a little bit of an extra jump to your step.

I also made sure to account for health and family in this list – two of the most important factors in my life; the building blocks of each and every day. Not only am I blessed, but lucky to have these two in my life – no matter how tough or rough situations can get, I will never take them for granted.

Happy Reflecting!

Keeping with the floral trend, my perfume collection definitely contains a few (or more) floral scents!

Especially in the summer, I enjoy wearing floral scents; now, not all floral scents are the same and some are heavier or more “powdery” than others. I like my floral scents to be light and delicate.

one of my favorite perfume brands is Dolce & Gabbana; I have worn Light Blue for years, and recently fell in love with Dolce. Dolce being more floral, making it perfect for the Spring/Summer. Although, I can’t say I haven’t worn Light Blue all year round.

In terms of perfume, I have a few classic scents I often choose, such as Chloe by Chloe and Bright Crystal by Versace.

I used to wear all different types of perfumes, but in the recent years I’ve noticed that I’ve really found the ones that work for me and I’ve stuck to them.

I guess that is comes with age!

Please hold.

Yes I am still here! I realize that I haven’t posted anything all month; the last post being November 01… how depressing! Truth is, I have been incredibly busy with work; weekdays and weekends. I honestly have not even had time to open a magazine! Shocker, I know!

I am hoping that by the end of this week, I will be able to start posting regularly again!

I have so many great things I can’t wait to share with you!

Stay tuned!

One of the most important pieces you must own (especially here in Canada) is a pair of very warm winter boots.

For many years now I have been the proud owner of UGGs – I found myself buying a new pair to my collection every year or so, not because the previous pair was worn out but because I loved the boot so much!

I am super excited to start wearing my UGGs again this upcoming season, buthavs also recently made a purchase of another pair or winter boots to add to my “super warm and comfy winter boot” collection.

Over the weekend, I spent some time at the Columbia Employee Store here in London; browsing for really anything that could catch my eye. Of course, something did!

The store carries a large selection of Sorel items, which is one of the other sought out winter clothing and footwear brands in the country. I have dreamt of a classic pair or Sorel boots for some time now, but each year opted for UGGs instead – which I definitely do not regret, I love my UGGs.

But, being at the store with this large selection on Sorel choices I decided it was time (and a sign) that I should finally get myself a pair of Sorel boots!

Originally, I was tempted  by the “Out and About”  leather boot and the “Tivoli II” suede boot, but with some carefull examination and thought of my needs for the boot, I decided to buy the “Joan of Arctic” boot. What swayed my decision was the fact that the winters are rough here in Canada, and I am pretty much always cold!

The boot comes in four different colours, and is meant for heavy snow and temperatures up to -30 degrees Celsius – perfection!

My husband also chose a pair of Sorel boots for himself, so let me know if you want to hear about his boots too, and if so, I’ll write a post about them too!

Winter prep is full steam ahead!
